How to Fix Broken Eyeshadow With Alcohol?
What You Need
You need to gather a few things before you can begin in order to properly repair your eyeshadow palette or any other powder product. I believe the majority of the items are already present in your home, which makes it even simpler. If not, the only things you need to get are the following:
• Optional: a bowl
• Rubbing Alcohol, the closer to 100%, the better
• Spoon or something smaller like a coin
• A q-tip and/or a makeup-wipe
• Dropper or anything that can help you not add too much alcohol at once
What to Do
1. Putting the product back into the original pan requires first gathering as many of the finished goods as you can. The next step will be simpler if the powder product hasn’t shattered all over the floor; all you have to do is make sure to pour as much powder as you can from the packaging back into the pan. It’s possible to use a small bowl to collect the product, but I typically just add it directly to the pan.
2. Since you don’t want to drown your broken powder product, the second step is to put the rubbing alcohol in a dropper (after you’ve put as much powder product back in its pan as possible). As you slowly pour the alcohol in, make sure the powder product is moist but not soaked.
3. Depending on the size of the powder product that has been broken, take a spoon or a coin. Using a coin or spoon, begin pressing the powdered product into the pan once it has become wet. To make it appear almost brand-new, you can also smooth it out.
4. Clean the product’s outer packaging with a q-tip or makeup wipe, getting rid of all the extra powder you couldn’t use in the first step.
It’s time to let it dry once you’re satisfied with how it looks after being smoothed out and pressed back into the pan. Allow it to dry for at least 24 hours without the cab. About 24 to 48 hours are spent letting my products air dry.
To make sure it has fully dried down and been properly pressed back into the packaging, we advise using the product once more after 48 hours. It’s that simple to use rubbing alcohol to quickly, cheaply, and easily fix broken eyeshadow.

How to Fix Broken Makeup?
1. First, gather your supplies: a bowl, a small spoon, rubbing alcohol, makeup remover, and paper towels. Visit your neighborhood pharmacy to purchase these items if you don’t already have them.
2. Remove the defective item. In a small bowl, collect the fragments of your broken compact. The remaining product should be broken up and added to the bowl using the bottom of a spoon. Clean the area of your pallet where your product was once placed with makeup remover. Before continuing with the makeup repair procedure, this area needs to be thoroughly cleaned and dried.
3. Add rubbing alcohol to a powder. To turn the broken product into a fine powder, mash it in the bowl with the back of a spoon. The easier it is to reassemble, the finer the powder. The powder should be combined with a few drops of rubbing alcohol to create a paste that is damp.
4. Replace and press the makeup. Put your homemade paste in the original container. The top of the product should be smoothed out by placing a paper towel (or plastic wrap) on top and pressing with the back of a spoon, the heel of your hand, or another flat object.
5. Leave the palette open so that your product can air dry and help it dry. Use it as you would have before it broke once it has dried; always apply powder products with a fresh makeup brush or puff.
The Bottom Line
Broken eyeshadow does occur, but neither it nor your eyeshadow is destroyed. Of course, it’s unlikely that you’ll ever be able to bring it back to its former splendor because once an eyeshadow has been reassembled, it may still be delicate and may not function exactly as before. Nevertheless, try experimenting with various techniques to find the one that works best for you. Whether as a pretty pressed shadow, a vibrant loose pigment, or a striking custom lip color of your very own, broken eye shadow can still be given a new lease on life.
